I'm still pondering whether it makes sense to go all low-voltage controls, or some hybrid of line-voltage and low-voltage controls. From a technical stand point, I'd like to know what the trigger voltage is on the 24v inputs (how much voltage drop can it handle?) If I go with all 24vdc controls, I'm looking at a lot of digital inputs. It also gets a bit pricey as you add more IO. It makes me wonder if they are serious about supporting the US market. However, I guess my biggest concern is the lack on inventory on their website. There are a lot of DMX products available, so there are probably some products available to suit unusual needs (like the RS-232 DMX controller Picta previously suggested for control from the Omni Pro) I know DMX is used by some of the Christmas light fanatics to control their - The Loxone system is probably the closest of any system I've seen that fulfills my HA goals. As such, DALI is suitable for on/of & dimming while DMX is suitable for On, Off, Dimming and RGB. Ģ - DALI is focused on building lighting, where DMX has its origins in theatrical lighting. For example, some drivers may not offer dimming. There seems to be some concern about finding drivers that fully support the DALI protocol. I did learn that:ġ - DALI is more of a European standard and US support may not be as good. Maybe I stopped too soon, but I wanted to look for other options. I stopped researching Omnibus when I realized they didn't have a DMX module. Here's a good video explaining how to create a dimmer using an ardunio & SSR: Yes, an SSR is basically a triac with an opto-isolated trigger. The device must not be used as part of safety-critical systems.Crydom is one of several manufacturers of solid-state relays (SSR). The installation requires a suitable enclosure to ensure protection against contact, water and dust. The installation must be carried out by a qualified technician in accordance with all applicable regulations. Smart Actuators support dynamic fade times and can only be used with the Lighting Controller. Use device with Standard Actuator(s) or Smart Actuator(s) When selected, you will be notified via System Status or the Mailer if the device is no longer available or goes offline. This information can be found in the technical data of the light source. In the settings of the Smart TW actuator, the color temperature of the light source is set for warm white and cool white: The assignment of the connections is as follows: Two Smart TW actuators or one Smart TW actuator and two individual channels can be configured. Smart Tunable White actuators are supported by the Lighting Control block. Two outputs of the dimmer for cool white (CW) and warm white (WW) are combined per actuator. The color temperature can be adjusted from warm white to cool white by mixing the two colors.įor this purpose, the Loxone RGBW dimmers support the actuator type Smart Tunable White: Tunable White (TW) refers to lighting with white light that is adjustable in color temperature.įor this purpose, light sources such as LED strips are available that combine warm white light and cool white light. Output 1 - terminal red, output 2 - terminal green, output 3 - terminal blue, output 4 - terminal white If "Individual channels " is selected as actuator type in the properties of the device, the channel assignment is as follows: If no connection to a Miniserver can be established for two minutes, then pairing mode is activated for 30 minutes. To activate the pairing mode manually, switch off the power for 10 seconds, then switch it back on. This is indicated by the status LED flashing red/green/orange. In delivery state, pairing mode will be active after the power supply has been established. I … current, L … cable length, A … wire cross-section, ΔU … voltage drop, ρ … resistance, ρ= constant (0,0172 for copper) This can be determined using the following formula: The wire size should be selected so that the voltage drop is not more than 1 V. The cable should be kept as short as possible to reduce voltage drop. The Compact Dimmer can be used without a separate enclosure. The RGBW Dimmers is installed on a DIN rail in a suitable enclosure. The functions are identical.ĭatasheet RGBW 24V Compact Dimmer Air Table of Contents The device is also available in a compact housing (RGBW Compact Dimmer Air). The 4 outputs can be configured as one RGBW channel, or can be used as 4 separate channels. With the RGBW Dimmer Air, low-voltage LED spots and LED strips can be dimmed using PWM and any color moods can be mixed.
